This game is a dungeon crawler, shoot'em up, semi-bullet-****, with a slight touch of metroidvania.

The game quality is good. It has beautiful art, fun music, and during my playthrough I only found a single bug.

The performance could be better on switch. You can experience slowdowns when there is a lot happening on the screen and sometimes when transitioning into new areas. The slowdowns are not bad enough to disrupt gameplay, but they are noticeable.

The game has a slow start with a meh story. But it really picks up once you get the dash ability. It changes the gameplay and exploration dynamics for the best. Enemy encounter are more intense and fun.

The weapons/spells that you get are good and there is a lot of variety to fit many playing styles. You can experiment with different combinations to find something that works for you. I used the different types of bullet spells most times with a defensive ones here and there.

The last level was more puzzle solving than combat but it was a nice change of pace.

Overall, I really enjoyed the game and once I got into it, I didn't put it down until I was done with it.

It can be challenging, but it never felt impossible.

Good Mario Party game with good online multiplayer gameplay. Also has a good line up of characters, not like anyone can beat Yoshi... but, you can try!

As good as a Mario game can get. Its a perfect 5/5. The platforming is great. Its full of charm and, dear I say, "Wonder". Easy to get into. The online aspect is perfect too, you can easily interact/help other players with minimum impact to your own game play experience. Levels are fun. I'm really enjoying this one.

TotK takes the BotW formula to the next THREE levels 😅.

The "dungeons" I feel are still lacking... But the new abilities make up for it. The extra exploration territory is great too.

This game makes me so happy! It is a story driven puzzle game with fully voiced dialog. The story is really beautiful. The puzzles are fun. The voice over is excellent 👌. It is a joy to play! Relaxing and beautiful. It looks great on Switch.

It has minor slowdowns when loading puzzles or new areas, but it doesn't affect gameplay.

This game is an okay puzzle-platformer. The puzzles are fairly easy but can feel very repetitive very fast. The game throws a curve ball at around level 80 but by then you're ready to get it over with. It doesn't have a story but it has a nice message that it tries to deliver. The way the messaging is done can get very redundant as you get the same messaging all throughout the game. I would have liked a little more in depth story. It's still not a bad experience. So, It is fine to pickup on sale!

Crazy! I've been playing the original game on original hardware when this got announced.

The game gets to the point right away. It doesn't spend too much time on tutorials and no side character walking you by the hand here. You have all the clues you need in the environment. It is up to you to scan items and get the clues. It is a masterclass on Metroid style games.

The upgraded graphics and lighting give the game a whole new atmosphere. Doesn't feel like I'm replaying the same game I've just finished playing. It looks great on both the Switch screen and the TV screen. The original game textures gives you a good concept of stuff around the environment. When you play thru this version, you're like: "Oh, so that's what that is". Everything is so much more detailed in this version.

The updated controller schemes also give the game a more dynamic/action game feel.

Gameplay is not changed at all. You do have the option to turn off the tips system that marks your next onjective on the map, similar to the original version's tips system. Otherwise, it is the same masterclass Metroid on first-person action adventure form.

If you're new to the Metroid franchise, this is a perfect game to get started with. It has a great story and the gameplay feels modern.

Lastly, his is what gamers should expect remasted games to be.

Despite the performance issues this game has... It is a really fun Pokémon game. The story is good. You make your own adventure. If you can look pass the performance issues, give it a shot. I'd recommend it even to first time Pokémon players.

Perfect arcade racer. Over the top tracks. Handling feels great... drifting, tricks, boosting. The soundtrack is a banger. A lot of replayability as you can level up every vehicle to unlock cosmetics.

Not close to the OG Crazy Taxi. I'm not sure how to describe it, but there is no emotion in this game... No excitement for finishing a run, no excitement for unlocking a new vehicle... It's so bland. 🤦‍♂️

This is fun and addicting. You become a cult leader after being resurrected by the one below. He wants you to save him from the Bishops who imprisoned him.

Gameplay:
There are two main gameplay mechanics to this game.
1. Action, rouge-lite, dungeon clawler. This is standard dungeon crawling, nothing special. The is not too hard or easy. This is how the story progresses as you must defeat all Bishops to release the one below from imprisonment.
2. Cult simulator. This is the addicting part. I find myself more involved in growing my cult than going to battle. The game kinds of forces you to do this as you are required to have a set number of followers to open each dungeon area for each Bishop.

Graphics are good.

Performance is hit an miss on Switch. You get some stutter after certain some loading screens, but it hasn't affected combat thus far.

Overall, I think the game is really good and recommend it!

Not sure that I like this one better than the first one. I really like the loot system and dungeons. But the combat is not as satisfying as on the first game. Performance is ok on Switch. There are some loading interruptions every now and then but not really bad. I feel like the story is also not as strong as the first one. Overall, I think this is a good follow-up to an excellent game.

This game is 🔥... an instant classic. The gameplay requires the perfect combination of skill vs button smashing lol. I mean, players of any level can hop in and have fun. The art style, stages, and music are very reminiscent of the original TMNT arcade game with a modern flair. The developers paid great attention to detail on capturing that feel.

The story mode is short, 2 - 3 hrs. depending on skill level and difficulty setting. Levels have hidden collectables and/or challenges to complete which adds some replayability. Each character has their own play style and stats, further adding to replayability if you want to max-out each character's stats. You can switch characters at any point before starting a level. On this mode, your progress is saved after completing levels. There is also a classic arcade mode.

Multiplayer: You can play couch co-op or allow random players to join your play session.

This is the perfect game to get into the beat 'em up genre.

Short, cute, and funny... dark humor funny... point and click adventure. Not for little kids, this game is M rated 😈. You play as a smart 7 years old girl who hates her family because they don't pay attention to her, has a drinking problem, and a plan to get rid of all things not cool.

The game goes on sale often and worth a play thru.

We're having so much fun with the game. The controls are surprisingly accurate, much more than on the Wii versions. Gameplay is good. Online has good connectivity. I've been able to find matches quickly. Customizations are good. You earn points after completing an online match. Every 100 points you get a random item from whichever packs are available. No duplicate items!

With the physical version you get a leg strap for the soccer game, but not missing much if you decide to go with the digital version.

Only giving 4 stars because it is missing some sports available in older versions. Thought Nintendo announced more games are coming later as a free update.

The story is very emotional... and that is not a bad thing. The gameplay is great. There is light combat, some exploration, puzzle solving, and platforming. For me the highlight was the story and how it is told. It is very crude and emotional and deals with stuff that many people experience in their lives... I don't want to spoil it... but it is beautiful. The game also looks good and the art direction is great. Recommended!

This game is so beautiful 😭... The art, the story, the animation it's all so amazing. To me, it felt like I was playing an interactive movie. The dialog and voice acting are great. During the story, you make choices that affect the game... It really makes you question if you're making the right choices from the get-go. There is light platforming and environmental puzzles to find your way around. It really doesn't have one boring moment, the story is constantly progressing, no filler at all. I completed one playthrough in under 7.5 hrs

After completing the game for the first time you have the option to go back into the story at any point and replay from there. So, if you want to alter your choices or finish collecting all items you don't have to play all the way through.

Do yourself a favor and play this game!

Puzzle, platformer, survival horror a la Inside and Little Nightmares. What sets this game apart from others like it is the sense of dread you get from enemies. The animations and scale of the scenery and sounds. All very well done. The platforming is responsive and the puzzles are fun... I never found myself lost without knowing what to do. The main character animation is so good too. Really worth it.

I have 30+ hours on this game... I've already completed the main story... And still scared of going out of safe zones at night 🤣. The gameplay is highly addictive. The graphics are above average for this kind of Switch port. Enemies animation goes to half frame when they are a bit away from you... I think it adds to the creepiness of the game. There is constant popup but it doesn't take away from the experience because there is also a lot of detail visible at all times... So it never looks subpart... I can actually play on handheld.
The weapons crafting system is good. You mainly use melee weapons against zombies because loud noises attract enemies. Weapons break and have limited times you can fix them. So, when you get a silencer pistol you won't want to use anything else... Until you get a fire sword.... Then, you won't want to use anything else 😅.

This version includes a bunch of DLCs... There is so much content. This game also has online coop with friends or randos.

💯 Recommend this game!

This game is hard to describe. It has a variety of genres combined into an on-rails experience. It has a bit of rhythm game, quick-time events, shooter, racing... All in fast paced levels that are 1 to 5 minutes long. It can be completed in under 2 hrs. It is a good looking game with vibrant colors, nice graphics, and the soundtrack is the best. The story is good too!

Now to the critique 😂
1. Items appear on the track right in front of you. You have no time to react. By the time you move to collect items you are out of position for the next set of items. Oftentimes I found myself staying in the middle of the track and collecting whatever spawned there. It is very seldom when you can see ahead on the track to know what comes next.

That's it... if the level designs were better, this game would be 5 ⭐'s easy. You know that feeling when you finish a level and you know you can get a better score so you retry right away before going to the next level... I never felt that way with this game ☹️

True 2D Zelda clone. It does a great job at it too... one of the best I've played. The story and dialog are good. There is a good variety of enemies. The dungeons are on the short side with simple puzzles... but they are fun to play thru. You also have a good variety of weapons at your disposal (sword, bombs, bow, shield, and more).

Just like in Zelda games, you can increase the number of hearts (health) by collecting heart pieces. Same with the energy bar. Weapons other than the sword consume energy when used and the energy bar auto-regenerates. So you have unlimited ammo. There are also other collectibles used to complete side-quests and gain weapon upgrades and many secretes across the map to find.

Great game!

Picked this up on Black Friday sale. The gameplay is solid. It has funny dialog. The battle system is ok, it is on the easy side... But I enjoy progressing thru the story quickly. The only aspect that I don't appreciate is that it calls out obvious things with dialog disrupting gameplay flow.

Play Mario Kart in real life... Somewhat! The game/experience works surprisingly well. Setup is fairly easy. The game is a trimmed-down version of Mario Kart. The RC karts battery life is more than enough for a good play session. You can set up fairly long and complex tracks. There are three speeds that you can choose from. The RC karts are very responsive as long as you have a clear line of sight from the Switch console.

So, overall it is fun to experience, but for the most part, the karts are sitting on a shelf as decoration 😂.

Short... I mean really short arcade space racer. Its fun for the time it lasts. You can do split screen couch co-op, which could extend the time you spend with it. I got it back when switch games were $0.50, so it was worth the couple hours me and my son spent on it! The controls and physics have a medium learning curve but once you get used to it it feels great. It really captures the draglessness of space. Graphics are ok.

This is my go-to-game for quick,15 to 20, minutes play sessions. Awesome space shooter with retro inspired graphics and a killer soundtrack. Cannot praise the soundtrack enough. The levels are randomly generated so, not two play sessions are the same. Weapons also drop at random, so you never know what your arsenal will be. I like using bot weapons. At the end of each level you fight a boss (bullet-****) like. After beating the boss your health regenerates and you get to choose a single buff before starting the next level. I haven't beat the game yet, I've reached the final boss several times... it isn't a walk in the park.

One of the best hack-n-slash games I've played. Gameplay is fluid with many boss battles and sick/**** finishing moves lol. Performs and looks great on Switch. The story is good too. Not giving 5 star because imo the game becomes repetitive towards the end and its crazy expensive (in-game currency, not real money) to buy powerups and new weapons.

Jet Ski arcade racing game. It feels like a successor to Jet-Moto. It has different types of races that you have to complete/win in order to progress and unlock new races. Controls feel ok and I like that it feels arcady and doesn't try to be simulation. The graphics are ok, works perfect for Switch. There aren't many water sports racing games out there and I think this one fills that space ok. I do wish Nintendo releases a Wave Race game soon!

Best looking Pokémon game so far. The gameplay stays true to the original N64 game. On-rails point and click. You have to take 4 photos of each Pokémon with the best possible quality. 1 to 4 star photos. The star rating is based on what the Pokémon is doing on the photo. The quality rating, bronze to diamond, is based on other aspects of the photo like positioning, size, and other Pokémon showing on the photo. You also have the option to edit and share your photos online.
The game is slow and you have to go thru the same route many, many times. So, it can feel repetitive quick. Overall, it is cool seeing the Pokémon in this level of detail. Its relaxing and enjoyable.

Another dungeon crawler that I didn't get into right away. It is fun and the combat is solid, but I think it lacks on exploration and looting. The aspects that I liked most on games like Diablo II are exploration, loot finding, and gear upgrades. I really have fun with this game. I'm not a big fan of rogue-like dungeon crawlers, but the rhythm mechanic on this game really sets it apart from other dungeon crawlers. The music is great and the beat changes as you advance from floor to floor. Every enemy kill drops loot +1. There are hidden item, which encourages exploration. It's not an easy game so expect to die a lot. Definitely recommend this game!

Simple but fun arcade game. Good as a time waster while listening to a podcast. Gameplay is to shoot a ball from top to bottom and vise versa while avoiding to collide with shapes moving across the screen. Each time crossing the screen is a point. Use points to unlock new "players" which are skins for the ball the you shoot across the screen. Some come with their own game music. Not bad for the price!

This game is a delight to play. The character's personalities and dialog are gold. The gameplay loop is addicting. And the story is unique. The game feels fresh from beginning to end. This game has 2 main gameplay modes (2d hack-n-slash and 3D mini-farm simulator). The 2D sections are levels where you defeat enemies and collect materials for daily meals, building new gear, and compost for your rice crop. The 3D section is in your home camp where you have a rice crop that you must care for (tilling, plant, harvest). You also have a group of supporting characters that help with building new gear, preparing meals, farming, and collecting materials.

The farming simulation is one of the best I've seen. It doesn't feel like a shore or tacked-in as game fluff, it is an integral part of the game progression and story. The world's time progression is quite fast-paced. Each season is a 3 days cycle. Each day cycle is about 15 minutes in real-time (day/night). You care for your crop by fertilizing it with compost, maintaining the needed water level during each growth phase, and keeping pests and weeds in control. How well you do on each of these affects the rice yield and buffs you get from the year's harvest.

Combat is hack-n-slash and it feels very fluid. You have regular attacks, power attacks, and a slew of special attacks. Each level has a number of objectives to complete during daytime and nighttime. Completing these helps to unlock new levels. Enemies are considerably harder to defeat at night which adds replayability to each level. It is also worth mentioning that time still progresses while in levels.

The art style, graphics, and music are all excellent.

The story is good and I don't want to spoil it. You can have the CPU take care of the farming if that's not your thing!

This was a nice surprise... Pac-Man got the Battle-Royal treatment a la Tetris. The gameplay is simple, you're playing Pac-Man, we all have played Pac-Man before, right! Consuming ghosts sends other players ghostly Pac-Man that slow you down making you an easier target. Compared to Tetris-99, sessions are shorter and gameplay is faster. The screen can become very hectic very fast. In my opinion, you have less control on winning vs loosing than in Tetris-99.

The game is fun on its own right, I've been playing it non-stop for the past couple of days. I think I got enough of it for now though...

Also, there are a lot of cosmetic stuff that can be purchased on the eShop and can't be unlocked with just gameplay :-/

Third entry in the Oddworld series. This is classic early 2000's 3D platformer. The developers did an ok job going from 2D to 3D gameplay. In my opinion the game tries too hard to keep you on rails as a 2D game would. Otherwise, the gameplay is fun and the cut-scenes are funny. No story at all after 5 hrs of gameplay. Big learning curve if first time playing MH. Menus can be overwhelming. Battle feels sluggish, but I guess that's a staple of MH series. Exploration is fun, riding and using wirebug to travers vertically. Haven't tried online yet.

Having fun with it so far, trying to learn my way around leveling and upgrading gear as well as learning all the boosts available during hunts.

Will rate and write a full review once I've played the game longer!

Update: Online play really makes a difference! Now that I have had more time playing this game, gained levels, unlocked new missions, and played online, I can really appreciate what the game has to offer.

After feeling confident with the game mechanics, I began joining online hunts and I can say that playing multiplayer drastically enhances the game experience.

The story still lacking after 10+ hrs of gameplay, but this game is not so much about the story but the hunts.

This game is something else! It is mainly about the story and it plays like a tv show. The dialog is good, the voice acting is good, and the story is good. Throughout the story you make decisions that affect the ending. The story is about infidelity, love, and life in general. It really is worth playing just for the story.

There is a second aspect to this game and that is the puzzle gameplay. Every night when you go to bed, you have to escape your nightmare by climbing several walls. You do this by pulling blocks off the wall and creating a path up. At the same time, the lower levels of the wall are falling, so you have a limited time to reach the top. You can undo your moves but that is limited too. Towards the second half of the game, these can be extremely difficult even in normal difficulty. I personally had to change the difficulty to easy in order to progress past the 6th night. After completing each wall section, you have to answer questions that also affect the ending.

There is a way to have the game play itself during these parts if your interested in experiencing the story without having to deal with the puzzles.

I'm glad to have had the opportunity to play this game!

Bowser's Fury! Yup, Bowser lost his **** after 2020 and he is ******* ******! The story is very minimal but the gameplay is gold. This is a true 3D open-world Mario game. The world is a giant lake and levels are islands spread out across the massive world. Mario is free to go from level to level seamlessly. Once in a level area, all objectives are highlighted so you know what to complete in that area. It is a 3d-platformer/collect-a-ton like all other 3D Mario games so collecting Shines, coins, tokens, and power-ups are all here... with a twist!

Every so often Bowser comes out to unleash his fury, this is when you have a chance to battle him if you have collected enough Shines to unlock the GigaBells which gives Mario the ability to transform into GigaSuperBad-AssMario. There are several of these GigaBells across the world and each requires a set number of Shines to unlock. So, you end up battling Bowser several times throughout the game. Each time unlocking new areas until the final battle.

Super Mario 3D World does an excellent job at capturing the classic 2D Mario gameplay in a 3D environment. It has an overworld a la SMB3 where you have to complete levels to unlock new paths to the next levels. You're racing levels from beginning to the end flag-pole. I really like that there is a timer to complete a level run... Otherwise, having unlimited time to adventure in levels would make the game too easy to 100%.

This is another must-have title on Switch.

This game is one of my favorite N64 era games. It's just fun arcade extreme-speed racing. As you race, parts on the podracer get worned up and have to be replaced. You earn cash by winning races and can buy new or used parts to fix/upgrade your podracer. Winning also unlocks new podracers. You can also buy/hire pit-droids that can fix up damaged parts in between races.

If you like racing games, this is a must-play!

I think the main draw of this game is the story. It is told in cut-scenes and drawn art pieces spread across the game with captions that tell the story of the Hindu gods. The art style on the cut-scenes is really nice and I whish they had told more of the gods stories in this style instead of the art pieces with captions. The gameplay (combat/weapons/skills/platforming/enemies and bosses) is ok. There is fun to be had and really worth a play-thru just for the story.

Its hard to recommend this game on Switch. The presentation is blurry and muddy and has constant slowdowns. The gameplay is fine, asymmetrical-top-down diablo-like gameplay... though not as satisfying because of the lack of loot drops. It's crazy how every game in this series is so different. This is a great collection. It has all retro Contra games and the emulation is good and responsive. Some of the games are the same game with region variation/titles. Good pickup for Contra fans and really anyone who wants to experience the Contra games and doesn't have access to original hardware.

Possibly the best graphics to be found on Nintendo Switch. This game looks so beautiful. This time around Luigi went on vacation to a luxurious hotel with his friends... Big plot twist, the hotel is hunted... and all your friends have disappeared. Now your job is to find them. Of course, you get your handy vacuum and this time you also get Gooigi, which makes for interesting gameplay and puzzle solving mechanics. After clearing a few floors I felt like the game becomes repetitive. The boss battles are fun. Overall a good experience.

*** AVAILABLE FOR LIMITED TIME ***

Three of the best games of ALL time in one. Better take advantage of this while it is available. Also, can't believe I'm playing Super Mario Sunshine on Nintendo Switch. The one critique I have is that I wish Sunshine had motion controls for FLUDD.

Right before Super Mario 64 launched back in 1996, I used to play Super Mario All-Stars (2D) with my sister and we'd talk about how cool it'll be being able to go to the waterfalls in the background, just go anywhere you wanted. When we got an N64 on '96 Christmas with SM64 it was the most fantastical experience a 14 years old kid could ever have.

By the time Super Mario Sunshine and Galaxy came to be, I had already joined the military and didn't get to play them as much as I would've liked. I still did enjoy playing them here and there... but never completed them. Now it is the time to do just that!

I'm not a fan of turn-based rpg games but this game does a really good job at making combat entertaining.

Like I said, conbat on this game is turn-based with a twist. There is a timeline that every combatant has to travers, in real time, in order to perform an action, this adds a level of engagement into battle that makes it feel more action & strategy than turn-based.

Like any good RPG, you have an ability tree to upgrade your character and companions. Also a gem crafting system. Gems are attached to equipment to add buffs, like fire attack or fire resistance.

But the highlight is the art. Hand drawn graphics are beautifully crafted and the princess's hair animation is outstanding, like a dream. Early on the game you learn to fly for traversing the world, which makes moving around the world entertaining as well. Lastly, the story is good.

Playing on casual mode made it accessible, combat is not hard and I could enjoy the art and story without getting frustrated at the game!

A must play!

Good game!
The Bastion is a hub-world that was destroyed by "the calamity" along other worlds. Your task is to rebuild The Bastion using cores found on other worlds (game levels). As you build up The Bastion, you add shops to upgrade your weapons and abilities. And of course, you collect materials as you play levels to craft those upgrades. The game's story is being narrated in real time as you play which I find entertaining.

The game has a nice aesthetic, top-down asimetrical with clean graphics and art style. No performance issues.

You get to choose two(2) weapons and one(1) special ability to take into battle. You can mix-and-match melee and range weapons. My favorite is the machete! You also have health potions and magic potions to heal and use special abilities.

Lastly, you have two lives per level. When you fall in battle, you get to continue at the same spot once, if you die again, you have to start the level over from the beginning.

I recently picked up this game for $2.49, which I think is a steal for this game. It is definitely one of the best quality indy games on Switch.

Poi is a collect-a-ton 3D platformer reminiscent of N64 era platformers. It keep the charming cartoonish vibrant aesthetic of the era. Collect coins and find medallions scattered across levels. It really plays a lot like SM64... you can probably call it a clone... maybe! Platforming feels good and there is a good variety of enemies. Simply fun.

This game is no joke. Anything above the lowest difficulty and expect o die a few time. Good thing that you can save at any point... it doesn't have auto save like you'd expect it. So need to keep in mind to save often. The graphics are '90s style. Enemies and pickups are sprites that are always looking at you. Gun play is solid and it support gyro aiming. It really can be frustrating at times, but fun none the less. I think it is fairly priced.

Streets of Rage 4 is a classic style side scroller beat'em-up game. It has beautiful hand drawn graphics and really good ost. The LRG physical release came with an extra soundtrack disc. That was really nice! You can play as one of four different characters each with their own gameplay style. There are 12 campaign levels and each level has a Boss. This is considerably more gameplay than previous entries in the series. It is very well executed for the game type and it is fun and challenging. This is a must have on any game collection!

I have put 10hrs on this game already and it is a lot of fun. There is a casual mode if enemies become too hard to defeat. Haven't noticed any bad frame-rate drops, so far so good in performance. The story is engaging, I think better than XBC2:Torna. I'm really having fun with this one.

[Update] 9.29.2020
Have played this for 24hrs and I think I'm about halfway through the main story. It gets a lot more interesting as you go along. You get new party members and new attack sets to upgrade. Enemies become harder to defeat; I have to be more strategic when getting into battles. And the level grinding continues, I had to stop the main story quests and complete side quests to level up and keep up with enemies. The locations on this game are so beautiful. It has been a fun ride... can't wait to see what comes next!

Fun single player time waster! The game loop is simple, move your character's card in a grid of cards eliminating enemies and obstacles to reach a high score.
You have health and a timer. Every enemy and obstacle has a damage number that you take in order to beat it. If the damage taken is higher than your health or the time runs out, the run ends.

My wife has put so many hours on this game. She pretty much took over my switch and I had to get a new one. She is not the gamer type, so, I was pleased to see her get into a game. I've been following her progress as she racks-up Nook miles and upgrades her home. The level of detail that Nintendo put on the villagers' interactions and personalities is amazing.

Gameplay: You start on a deserted island. You get a tent for sleeping and off you go to start completing tasks to build up the island and make it the best attraction for future residents. These tasks are catching bugs, fishing, collecting fossils and seashells around the beach, picking up weeds, breaking rocks, chopping trees, collecting materials, and crafting tools and furniture with those materials.

As you complete these tasks you get Nook miles (a type of currency) and coins (a type of currency). There are certain items that you can get with Nook miles only. You use your money and miles to buy upgrades for your living quarters, travel to other islands to gather resources, and meet other residents, get accessories for your character and so for.

With time, you'll be able to invite villagers to become permanent residents of your island. You'll be able to reshape your island to be whatever you want it to be.

Conclusion: This game is addictive and consumes a lot of time. Fun to play for the casual gamer. Very relaxing!

In this horror survival game, you play as a baby on crib waiting to fall asleep. While waiting, you have to prevent "it" from getting to you. You accomplish this by performing actions (turn the light on, play with a toy, don't look, etc.) based on noises in the room for a set period of time. It is very creepy and intense at times. You'll have a few jump-scares the first few times playing the game, I did screen the first time "it" got to me lol. You'll get a few hours of fun from this game. Good enough for the price.

I remember playing this game as a kid and being so scared of the demons. And at the same time thinking that the 2D sprites for demons felt out of place. I really never liked that trick of 2D sprites always pointing at the camera on early 3D games, like the trees on Mario 64. I digress. I really had fun playing this game in the past and revisiting it, again, on Switch is awesome. I own the original (N64 cart) and was playing thru it the week Bethesda announced the game was coming out on current platforms. True classic.

Rogue-like FPS with voxel graphics. This game is fun, my son really got into it and reached the last level. The gameplay loop is simple, clear all enemies in the room, clear all rooms on the floor, move on to the next floor. There is a shop on every floor to buy weapons or buffs and enemies sometimes drop buffs too.

Rooms per floor are randomly generated, so, all runs are different. But there is a finite number of rooms, which allows you to learn them. When you die, you start from floor 1, but as you play new buffs and weapons become available for future runs.

It is very cheap when on sale, worth giving a try.

***Just started this game but here are my thoughts so far...***

This game has a lot of stutter during cut scenes and the graphics could have been refreshed, at lest textures. It relies on accurate aiming to defeating enemies and the controls suck. Motion controls could make aiming more enjoyable. The story seems interesting thus far, a little creepy.

I'll update this review once I've played more!

Update May 5th, 2020... I'm actually enjoying this game. The story and main character are bunkers. It takes some ti9me to get used to the style of the game, but once you get in the story, you'll want to know how it ends. Overall rating adjusted from 3 to 4 stars!

This is a side-scroller platformer with minor enemy combat... enemies are more like obstacles than anything. The game is well built and put together, but its not perfect. It rely on trial and error quite a bit, which I think many games on this genre suffer from. Also, The monochrome color palette leads to hard to detect obstacles, specifically the barbed-wire. I think its not very responsive at times...but that can just be me. Finally, the tutorials are shown as small action animations that can be hard to decipher. So, it can be frustrating not knowing how to proceed in some instances at the beginning of the game. But after getting to learn all the game mechanics, the game is actually fun to play. It's really is getting from point A to point B without dying. Most levels have nicely placed checkpoints while others require a perfect run. There are also objectives to complete on levels that break the pace a bit, but also add to the challenge. This game goes on sale very often and I think it is worth picking up on sale.

This game usually goes on sale for $0.49. It is worth to pick up at that price, not at full price. I think this can be considered a platformer on wheels. The point of the game its to go from point A to pint B in a level while avoiding enemies and traps. You use the terrain to gain speed, jump off ramps to reach areas and there are some hidden collectibles. Overall, a fun game to play here and there. Not a whole lot of replayability.

I am a huge fan of the first 2 Turok games. The exploration, the character animations, the gun play, them bosses... almost perfect. Many of these aspects are not even as good in most shooters this days. I remember playing this game and having to uncover the full wireframe map on each level to feel like I can exit the level without missing anything. Most frustrating is getting to the end-level portal without collected all keys. This game is in my top 10 favorite games of all time.

This remaster add many quality of life features that are most welcome. My favorite being gyro aim. Its easy to get lost exploring maps in this game and this version adds marks to points of interests making it easy to find your way around. You can also save at any time. These and many more options can be enabled or disabled from the options menu.

Now, there is one thing that took some time getting used to while playing the remasters... and that is the faster framerate. I know... hear me out. To me, the slower movement on the N64 really gave this games a sense of heaviness or weight to the whole thing. And playing this game in what feels like turbo-mode changes that. I've really, really enjoyed playing this version but always prefer going back and experience them on the N64.

Fun cart type racing game. On this game you race as a team of three racers and all racers positions count towards the team's points to win a race. So you have to help your teammates as much as possible during races so that t hey can finish in a good position. This can be fun and frustrating since your teammates are COM players during the campaign, so. The campaign has a story to it, but nothing groundbreaking. This game was really ground breaking when it came out in terms of graphics. The experience is very different from the original DOOM games and even the reboot DOOM 2016 & Eternal. This game falls under the Horror Survival genre better than FPS Action. The atmosphere in the game is very dark and the gameplay is very slow. You do more exploration to find keys and finding your way around than combat. It really does a good job at keeping the intensity of the game with the environment and the sporadic combat sequences. The gun play feels good. It is longer than I expected but it doesn't overstay its welcome. Plays and looks great on Switch.

I enjoy playing thru this game. It's really meant to be played in co-op. I played it single player which is probably not the best way to enjoy this game.

Gameplay wise it is pretty much same as the previous Wolfenstein game, but this time you have a companion. If you go down, your companion has a short chance to help you up. They introduce a bodysuit that gives you different abilities, but nothing groundbreaking. The gun play is probably the best this game has to offer. It feels good. The AI enemies can be difficult, so going "Rambo" is never the best approach.

Graphics on Switch are really blurry. I recommend playing this in another platform if available. It is playable though.

Overall, an ok experience on Switch.

Overall it is a great experience with a good variety of enemies, puzzles, and environments to explore. It has some metroid-vania aspects to it. The platforming is excellent! But the real draw of this game are the beautiful crafted graphics and environments. It is a gorgeous looking game and it run smoothly on the Switch.

The one aspect that I found disappointing is that there are NO boss fights. Instead the "bosses" are highly scripted escape sequences that rely on trial an error rather than skill.

This game is fun. I played the StarFox storyline only but I think they all play the same. The exploration and combat are well done. You go into different planets and help the good guys regain control over the planet. There is a lot to do on each planet (side quests). A lot of it is very repetitive but you don't have to 100% clear a planet, just can complete the main quest missions and move on. I really liked the exploration and combat, so I completed a bunch. Your do all the exploration and combat from your ship. You can swap weapons on the fly in real life and it reflects on the game. Fortnite is a Battle Royal game where up to 100 players compete to be the last survivor. You can play solo, in a duo, or a squad (team of 3 or 4). Each team drops into an island at whatever location they choose. Gear can be found and collected across the island (weapons, shields, med-kits, grenades, etc.). The faster you pickup gear, the faster you are ready for battle. Users have the ability to create structures out of different materials that cam be "farmed" by hitting trees, buildings, and other structure with a pick-ax. All users are equipped with a pick-ax from the beginning. Build structures to facilitate traversal or cover from enemy fire.

"The storm" is an area where players take damage. Every so often, the storm grows, shrinking the playing field and forcing players to meet at a central location. This location is randomized on every match. Initially players can easily survive in the storm. Players take more damage from the storm as the match progresses, making the storm more dangerous as time passes.

I have to admit that Fortnite is a fun game to play. It is easy to pickup but hard to master and the competition is fierce. But it is what it is... a micro-transaction-extravaganza outside of gameplay. All the screens are made to get you to purchase new cosmetic gear. This doesn't have any effect on gameplay. So, up to whoever if they want to spend money on it.

This game got desappeared from the Switch eShop once NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 released. Saber Interactive (original developer) partnered with 2K to publish the sequel. This is an arcade 2-on-2 over the top NBA game, a la NBA Jam or NBA Showtime. Player's stats increase the more you use tham making them better as you go. You unlock new players via rading-card packs that include current and classic NBA players. They include duplicates in the packs, so it sucks getting a pack that has all caracter that you've already unlocked. You could also unlock the full game's roster with a microtrasaction, not surehow much that went for. The progression system is ok. You play in a tournament on a court, if you win the tournement, you unlock the next court. You get a new trading-cards pack after every game. For the most part NBA playgrounds is a fun game to play and does well to scratch that itch for NBA Jam.

This game is what I imagine No Man Sky was when it first launched, with way simpler graphics of course. I would categorize this game as a walking-sim / exploration game. You go from planet to planet, exploring, scanning flora and fauna and searching for Morphite. There is minor combat and some puzzle solving. Graphics are very simplistic but vibrant and are good for Switch. Overall, a fun game to play thru and get to see the planets and scenery. The story is ok.

Robonauts is a side scrolling shooter. Each level has a series of planets that you have to clear of enemies. You jump from planet to planet using gravity to pull you in. Your bullets can also be pulled by gravity, so you can shoot enemies on other planets. Overall it is an ok shooter. Personally, I played like 10 levels and was done with it.

To tell the truth, I was very impressed with the graphics this game managed to pull out on a handheld platform. That's about it! The gameplay is slow and controls are laggy. I wish these games were more arcade-like instead of simulation, it just never feels right to me.

It is better than the 2K19 version... so, if you're looking for a basketball game... this is the best you'll find on Switch!

Mmmh... I was never a fan of Sonic games. I felt they were confusing with all the different paths. My completionist brain couldn't get around having to leave items uncollected behind. It is still the case on this entry. But I can appreciate the quality of the game, art design, music, and being true to the original Sonic concept.

I play this game so much. It is an old-style vertical-scrolling shoot 'em up / bullet ****. There are four different airplanes with different abilities to choose from. Has local, friends, and global leaderboards. Pure 80's early 90's arcade fun!

New IP by Nintendo. This is an arena fighting game where fighters have spring-like arms with attachments. You can use motion controls (one joycon on each hand) to throw punches and tilt to control in which direction a punch is thrown. This can also be controlled with a button press and thumb-stick. It is fun to get into online matches and it has a healthy competitive scene. It's not you're typical fighting game that's for sure.

After playing a few matches it can feel repetitive. I usually put it down for long periods at a time before returning to it for the casual friendly match with friends and family.

Worth picking up on sale 50% off. Otherwise, a soft pass.

This is one of the first action indie game I played on Switch and it is hella fun.

The point of the game is to avoid being seeing and/or ultimate hit by enemies and reaching an elevator to get to the next floor. Dying in this game is a one-hit affair. You have your fists and a few melee weapons to attack enemies. You also have your shifting power which allows you to teleport for short distances to avoid enemy attacks, avoid enemies without being noticed, or to reach enemies and kill them before they even noticed you're there.

Enemies are overpowered with weapons and always vigilant, waiting for you to make a noise or go into their sight to murder you.

The shifting mechanic is really fun to use. You can shift five times in a row before having to wait a cooldown period to be able to shift again. There is also a bullet-time mechanic that builds up as you attack enemies and triggers automatically when you're close to dying.

It has a good enough story, but ultimately what makes this game fun is shifting around killing enemies like a bad-***!

This game is a combination of space shooter and side scroller shootem'up. The point of the game is to clear levels as fast as possible while solving puzzles and collecting collectables. You get a ranking for each level. Often times I find myself playing a level over and over again to get a better score. I really like the on-foot sections. Clearing stages as fast as possible without dying is almost impossible, but fun to try! And it has global and friends leaderboards.

Also, there is a story line as well and after completing a level you get some scenes with dialogue. These are all available from the main menu after unlocked too. You also get a lot of info about enemies, locations, equipment, and races that add to the story.

It's a game that you can pickup and play a quick level while on the go.

Awesome new IP by Platinum Games. I would classify this game as an action adventure with RPG elements. You play as a police officer whom has the ability to control "Legions" which are your battle companions. You spend half the time doing police work (finding clues and completing main and side quests) and the other half fighting enemies, mini-bosses, and bosses.

The police station is a main hub where you can heal up, upgrade equipment and your Legion's abilities, and start new mission. So, you spend quite a bit of time in there. The missions are in different regions of the city and another dimension.

Gameplay is very straight forward, you have a case, you need to find clues to solve the case, you engage in battle with enemies. There are quite a few twists along the story that keeps the game fresh.

Art style is very anime like. It does look really good on handheld and when docked.

Performance is good, with very few drops in frame rate when on the most demanding action sequences. For the most part it feels really smooth.

It's a Pokemon game with the same formula as always and some welcome changes like the wild area where you can free roam and catch wild Pokemon. You can also engage on multiplayer dynamax battles there. I wish it had better online functionality though. It can be completed in a short time if you grind to level up some Pokemon and take on the gyms. Performance drops quite a bit when connected on-line, so I recommend not connecting online unless you want to play some of the online modes.

Overall the game looks good but not ground braking graphics, not even close. It's a 3 star graphics.

Performance has some issues when online but it never feels unplayable. I think it needs some optimizing, but overall a good experience, 30fps most of the time if not on-line.

Update:
After defeating the Gym Leaders, the tournament feels like a fill-in and the plot is underwhelming. You never get to control the legendary Pokemon, which is disappointing.

Overall it's a 4 star game in my opinion.

This is an F-Zero like game with futuristic tracks and fast paced races. I played through most of the championship races on single player mode. New ships are unlocked as you progress through the championship races. The graphics are good and the race mechanics are good too. There are some aspects that makes it feel like a cheap game like explosion effects. But if you can get over that, it is a fun single player racer. This game does support online races but it is not as fun as Mario Kart 8!

This game is so much fun. This is the kind of game that shines on Switch because of its simplicity.

First, on performance, the game is locked 60fps and I haven't experienced any lag/slowdowns or performance issues at all. The loading times are really short. The image/resolution is sharp on docked and handheld as well. And the graphics are just beautiful on this game.

The game play is fun. It is a boss rush and side scroller shooter. I really like the run and shoot levels better than bosses because they take me more time to learn, so I get to play them more. I seem to figure out the bosses sequences faster.

Something else that I enjoy the most is that I can jump in and play through a level or a boss, even if I die, in short play sessions whenever I have a chance. I don't feel like I have to sit and play for 30 min to 1 hour to enjoy the game.

This game is a classic survival game. The goal is to reach the survivors camp at the end of the river while avoiding dead in a post apocalyptic world. You have to gather resources for eating and crafting materials to build tools to aid your survival. You have to eat or die of starvation. You have to avoid getting hurt and if you do get hurt, you have to patch yourself up or die from an infection.

One of the best looking games on Nintendo Switch. Controlling the snake is challenging but not frustrating. On this game you go around each level collecting gems, medallions, and water bubbles. You only need to collect the gems to move on to the next level. But collecting all the items on each level is where the challenge is. There is also a time trail mode. This is the pinnacle of 3D Mario games. The main story is fun and not overwhelming. In fact, it can seems a little short. But there is tons to do after completing the main story. The graphics are the best of any previous Mario games and the performance on handle and dock mode is great as well. This game has a semi multiplayer mode where one player controls Marion while the second player controls Cappy. I wish it had a better couch coop experience. There is an online game mode, Balloon World, that is available after completing the main story.
